THREE OPTIONS FOR PRINTING A LIST OF LAYERS

Option 1:
Open your layer dialog box. On the keyboard, press the Ctrl and Print Screen buttons. Open Word, and in a new document right-click and select Paste (or press Ctrl+v). This option works best if your paper is set to landscape.

Option 2:
Open your layer dialog box. Before clicking anywhere, on the keyboard, press Ctrl+a (select all), then press Ctrl+c (copy). Open Word, and in a new document right-click and select Paste (or press Ctrl+v). This option works best if your paper is set to landscape.

This drops in as a table, so with some simple formatting it will line up well. All I did to achieve the following result was change the text size to 9.

This option also works well when dropped into Excel. A little formatting is needed to clean it up.

Option 3:
This is the most complicated option. In the Command Line, type -LAYER (enter) ? (enter) (enter). The AutoCAD Text Window will pop up with the information.

Highlight the text you want to copy, then right-click and select Copy. In a new Word document, right-click and select Paste. Since this is simple text, the formatting is funky when placed in Word.

My personal favorite is Option 1.
